Mosquito Trap Outdoor Exterminator
Use our Exterminator Mosquito Trap and enjoy backyard picnics, barbecues and warm-weather activities without shooing away the buzzing, flying insects that haunt your yard.
Unlike insect systems that require propane and expensive allure refills, the Pestrol Outdoor Exterminator is an effective mosquito-trapping system that operates economically and is easy to install.
This mosquito control system eliminates West Nile-carrying insects as well as biting flies, Asian beetles, and other flying pests from your outdoor as well as indoor living spaces.
This mosquito trap is safe for indoor use, and it eliminates insects without adding chemicals to the environment or the surrounding areas of use.
The Pestrol Outdoor Exterminator Mosquito Trap uses a UV fluorescent bulb, which produces warm light to attract insects. The titanium dioxide-coated funnel produces carbon dioxide, which is irresistible to mosquitoes, luring the insects to the powerful yet whisper-quiet vacuum fan. Insects are collected and trapped in the retaining cage away from the area of usage, providing the user with safe pest protection and comfortable living quarters.
The Pestrol Exterminator protects up to 1000m² or 1/4 of an acre.
The best-selling mosquito trap in Australia. With over 15,000 sold in the last 15 years – start taking control of your outdoor areas.
Decoy and capture mosquitoes by a tripartite system:
- CARBON DIOXIDE produced during the TiO2 process. HEAT and A CERTAIN WAVELENGTH RAY (mosquitoes like these) produced from the photocatalyst lamp installed inside.
- Captured mosquitoes can’t escape from the net, where they dehydrate and die.
- Purifies and sterilises air through the TiO2 effect.
- Environmentally friendly, Insecticide-free Harmless to humans, odourless, no pollutants.
- No expensive attractant refill or propane is necessary.
- Easy operation and installation, low maintenance. Quiet, no irritating zapping noises.
- It is most effective when used outdoors; however, the unit is also suitable for use inside.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The principle of Trapping Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes, even in the dark, can easily access where a person is by sensing the carbon dioxide and temperature that he/she sheds. Also, they react extremely sensitively to near-ultraviolet rays. Using these properties of mosquitoes, Pestrol Outdoor Exterminator can decoy and capture mosquitoes both in bright and dark outdoors by a tripartite system: HEAT and A CERTAIN WAVELENGTH RAY produced from the mosquito bulbs installed inside, and CARBON DIOXIDE produced when mosquito bulbs are radiated onto TiO2 coat.
Decoyed mosquitoes enter the exterminator through the capture windows on the upper parts, and they are strongly drawn into the capture net on the lower part. Once they are drawn into the capture net, they cannot fly away upwards due to the strong current of the ventilator. Mosquitoes quickly dehydrate and die. No messy & costly spray.Purifies air through photocatalysis and sterilises sundry bacteria
Using TiO2, ATTENTION-GETTER of ENVIRONMENT PURIFICATION FIELD. A smoke/insecticide-free mosquito trap that simultaneously purifies the air and exterminates mosquitoes has been specially devised.
It is harmless to the environment, livestock and pets, for it is insecticide-free.
TiO2 Photocatalyst Explained:
The effect of photocatalysis used in TiO2 pays attention to the field of pro-environment.
Titanium dioxide, also known as titania, is the naturally occurring oxide of titanium. TiO2 was approved as a food additive in 1968 by the USA. Currently, TiO2 is used in making chocolates and is a harmless material to the human body.
Photocatalysis is a disintegration that uses light energy with TiO2 as a catalyst. TiO2 is not changed, so it can be used permanently. In case there is a little ultraviolet ray from the sun or lamp, TiO2 purifies the air and sterilize ill-smelling molecule by the response to organic matter on the surface of TiO2.
Using energy from light, TiO2 creates two oxidation reactants: hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anion, which decomposes toxic organic substances by oxidation.
Nanotechnology
It uses mosquito bulbs and funnels. It can generate carbon dioxide and moisture, and heat in the device when it runs. Emulates human breath, and decoyed mosquitoes enter inside.
Titanium Dioxide’s photo-catalytic characteristic is greatly enhanced due to the advent of nanotechnology. At the nano-scale, not only does the surface area of titanium dioxide particle increases dramatically, but also it exhibits other effects on optical properties and size quantization.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Pestrol Outdoor Exterminator the best choice for controlling mosquitoes?
The Pestrol Outdoor Exterminator is the leading long-term solution scientifically proven to safely and effectively reduce mosquitoes and other insects. Photocatalyst technology and a special light will help you drastically reduce the mosquito population in your yard.
How soon should my Exterminator Mosquito Trap begin to control mosquitoes?
The trap will begin to catch immediately if mosquito activity is in the area. Female mosquitoes looking for blood will be drawn to the trap and destroyed. The trap gradually reduces your mosquito population as it attracts and destroys them. It may take 6-8 weeks of use to reduce the mosquito population to the point that you have successfully interrupted the breeding cycle.
Will it harm humans or pets?
No. It is completely safe for humans, animals and the environment. The Pestrol Exterminator mosquito trap does not involve fogging, pesticides, bug zappers, repellents, or citronella. Fogging, repellents, and coils often involve chemicals that can potentially be dangerous for humans and the environment. The Pestrol Exterminator mosquito trap uses none of these chemical methods to control mosquito populations. It is 100% environmentally friendly.
How high off the ground do we install it?
The mosquito trap can be placed, fixed, or hung, on any external object, wall, veranda post, tree or ceiling in the area to be protected. It’s most efficient when greater than 1M of the ground. You can hang it by the power cords or the other line. Many people have small children and pets and must hang the unit head high.
Is the device unit noisy?
The unit’s only sound is the in-built fan, which is equivalent to a computer fan.
Does it attract other insects?
It has been specifically designed to attract and control mosquitoes and sandflies (midges), although it may attract other insects not beneficial to your garden.
It has recently rained will the mosquitoes return?
This is possible if you are contributing to their breeding environment.
The perfect breeding grounds around your home for mosquitoes are any areas where there is stagnant water laying, e.g. Pot plant dishes, fish ponds, old tires etc.
Plants like Bromeliads are another perfect environment for breeding mosquitoes.
How long do I operate the trap each day?
For the best results, run the unit continuously to break the breeding cycle. However, using it solely for entertainment purposes is fine. The unit will attract all surrounding flying insects immediately.
What is the difference between ZAPPING and TRAPPING?
ZAPPING | TRAPPING |
Noisy zap Complicated to clean Outdoor use only Unpleasant burning smell |
Whisper quiet Twist open and clean with the brush Effective indoors and outdoors, environmentally safe Odourless |
The mosquito is a common flying insect that is found around the world. There are about 2,800 different species of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes can fly about 1 to 1.5 miles per hour (1,6-2,4 km/hour).
The mosquito females drink blood and the nectar of plants; the males only sip plant nectar. When a female bites, she also injects an anticoagulant (anti-clotting chemical) into the prey to keep the victim’s blood flowing. She finds her victims by sight and smell, and also by detecting their warmth. Not all mosquito species bite humans.
The mosquito is often a carrier of diseases, such as malaria, dengue fever, encephalitis, yellow fever, West Nile virus, dog heartworm, and many others. The females, who drink blood, can carry a disease from one animal or human to another as they feed.
Below: You will see that the Mozzy Trap caught many moths. However, if you look in between, you will find hundreds of Mosquitoes that were caught and dehydrated and died.
Product Disclaimer: The Pestrol Mosquito Traps will catch and reduce the mosquito population in your area. Please be aware; unfortunately, there is no 100% foolproof product on the market that will ensure that you don’t get bitten. Every precaution should always be taken to prevent the risk of mosquito bites worldwide.
Pestrol has a huge range of Mosquito Control Products and we are constantly improving and researching new preventative techniques to do deal with Aussie Mozzies.
Seems to work well, highly recommend.
This is honestly one of the best things I have ever bought. Both my kids are mildly allergic to mosquito bites and swell up when they’re bitten. This trap has been a life saver every summer, and I’ve recommended it to all my friends and family.
Works well
Your product is amazing guys!! Highly recommend. It’s caught so many bugs. There are no mozzies around, a safe environment for me and my dogs 🙏🏼 Thank you again
Too expensive for what you get. Last point of quality control needs more attention to detail, my white lid flaps weren’t closing properly and letting insects back out. Plastic clip on top could be bigger and feel more secure if hung by chain (not confident in hanging mine).
We’re in rainforest in fnq so it’s difficult, but together with breeding traps we have seen a difference. Exterminator is collecting mozzies, it’s near the house. Thinking more breeding traps will help. Bit of a project really, hoping to control them around the house, not the whole forest.
These are fantaistic – we’ve just bought our second and have even given them as gifts. Good pricing, safe and environmentally sound and the service/delivery is great.
The product works, but the light bulb, which is supposed to last 1000 hours, lasted less than 30 days for me. Other than that, I was surprised at how well it worked with such a simple design.
After 2 nights I estimate 30 to 40 mosquitoes and we have not got it set up in the ideal position. It does catch other insects as well but as long as it is getting rid of the mosquitoes I don’t care. I wish I got it at the start of summer.
I have caught a lot of moths but I don’t think I have seen a mosquito in the trap yet. I did read that you need to give it two or three weeks to get the mozzies down, and we did go away during that period, so I am prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and keep trying. It would be disappointing if it never proved to be successful, because it is quite expensive if it doesn’t work. I will persist and hopefully my rating will improve.
Good thankyou
Brilliant. It has helped turn a mozzie infested area into a pleasure.
Weve been running our Exterminator for a month now and the Mosquito population has dropped and we are getting bitter alot less maybe 66%. Looking forward to reclaiming our backyard. I don’t worry about the other insect it catches, as we live in an urban centre and the exotic plants really don’t need pollination.
Too early to tell. Lots of little moths caught. Mosquito population seems to be lower.
Works extremely well.
Average results. Mainly moths and the trap flaps don’t close fully.
Love it, this was the first summer at our beach house where no one was bitten!
Does a great job. Hangs outside back door. We empty when needed about weekly. Simple process
It is hard to tell but seems to work. Collect so much more than just mosquitos.
