Protect Your Fruit Trees with High-Quality Bird Netting in Australia Fruit tree bird netting is an essential solution for Australian gardeners and orchardists looking to protect their fruit trees from birds, bats, and other wildlife. Designed to provide a physical barrier, bird netting helps prevent the loss of valuable crops while ensuring minimal harm to the environment and local fauna.

Benefits of Using Fruit Tree Bird Netting:

  1. Protects Crops: Bird netting safeguards your fruit trees from damage caused by birds such as cockatoos, rosellas, and crows, as well as flying foxes, which are common in many parts of Australia.
  2. Eco-Friendly Solution: Non-invasive and wildlife-safe, modern bird netting is made to comply with Australian regulations, ensuring that it doesn't harm protected species.
  3. Durable and Weather-Resistant: Most bird netting options in Australia are UV-stabilised, making them resistant to the harsh Australian sun and ensuring long-term use.
  4. Versatile Application: Suitable for a wide range of fruit trees, including apples, pears, cherries, citrus, and stone fruits. It can also be used for vegetable gardens, vines, and small plants.
  5. Ease of Use: Lightweight and easy to install, bird netting can be draped over individual trees, secured to frames, or used to cover entire orchard rows.

Key Features of Fruit Tree Bird Netting:

  • UV-Stabilised Material: Protects against sun damage and prolongs the life of the netting.
  • Lightweight and Flexible: Easy to handle and install, while still providing a strong barrier.
  • Wide Mesh Options: Available in a variety of mesh sizes to suit different needs, ensuring small birds or insects are kept out without restricting air and light flow.
  • Compliant with Regulations: Meets Australian government requirements for wildlife safety, ensuring animals don’t become trapped in the netting.

Why Bird Netting is Crucial in Australia:

Australia’s unique climate and diverse wildlife make fruit trees particularly vulnerable to damage. Birds and flying foxes are naturally attracted to ripening fruit, especially during harvest seasons. Fruit tree bird netting offers a cost-effective and humane solution, allowing gardeners to enjoy a full and healthy harvest without resorting to harmful measures.

How to Use Bird Netting:

  • Single Trees: Drape the netting over individual trees and secure it at the base to prevent access.
  • Orchards: Use support structures or frames to create a covered area for multiple trees, ensuring easy access for maintenance and harvesting.
  • Garden Beds: Cover vegetable gardens with netting to protect smaller plants from pests.

Choosing the Right Bird Netting:

When selecting bird netting for your fruit trees, consider the size of your trees, the type of wildlife in your area, and the level of protection you require. High-quality UV-stabilised netting is ideal for long-term use and reliable crop protection.
