    HopStop Cane Toad Spray does not have an expiry date printed on the bottle, only a date of manufacture. This is one of the best selling products for Cane Toad control, we regularly cycle our stock.

    What if my chickens eat the grass that gets sprayed when aiming at the toad? Will soapy water dilute the poison Jakki asked on 6 February 2025

    Hey Jakki,
    There's no specific data on how HopStop Cane Toad Spray relating to how this product would effect chickens if consumed. The products SDS does mention oral exposure for humans, and that it may be irritating to mucous membranes, but is unlikely to cause anything more than transient discomfort.

    The product is biodegradable. It will not accumulate in the soil or water or cause long term problems.

    Our supplier's recommendation would be to hose down the area where the product was applied to the toad and ensure that any accidental overspray is washed off the grass leafs into the soil.

      Hop Stop works well and lives up to the descriptor but definitely kills lawn if the spray gets on it. It is very potent and you definitely require a mask, gloves and safety glasses when dealing with it. I found that “Croaked” didn’t work at all.

      Works as described. Larger toads I followed and did a second short spray. They simply become immobile and die under an aesthetic ingredient. They’re a noxious pest to all native and domestic animals and birds. Good riddance!!!
