      Can your Clear Timber Protectiom product be used on pine beehive boxes Graham asked on 9 August 2025

      Hey Graham,
      Do not use XJ Timber Preservative on a beehive box. This product contains Permethrin, which is an insecticide, and will kill the bees.

      Can you paint over this product with waterbased paint. Nick asked on 12 February 2024

      Hey Nick,
      XJ Timber Preservative is an oil-based product so an oil-based paint is recommended however, you will need to make sure the solvent has flashed off before applying any paint. It’s also a good idea, as in most cases, to apply paint to a small out of the way section first. For more tailored advice, I would recommend speaking with a paint expert on this one first if you have a large job to do.
