    Hi, Just wondering how many hours of sun light to fully charge the battery?. Can i just leave the unit outside with the sunlight to charge it self or should i also connect unit to the grid to charge battery as well? Tri Minh Thai asked on 26 March 2025

    Hey Tri,
    It wouldn't be necessary to charge the Executioner Solar Bug Zapper with both the solar panel and through an outlet, a full days worth of sunlight will give the unit approximately 6 nights of operation.

    The manual charging option is there for when solar charging isn't an option, or when overcast conditions are forecasted for several days.

    Hi there just set this beast up instructions has 5 steps but online has 6 steps and the 6th one is to turn it on is there a button iam missing as ive covered the solar panel disconnected it and all and still wont power on Nick b asked on 9 January 2025

    The Executioner Solar Bug Zapper doesn't have an on/off switch, it turns on automatically when the battery has charge, and when the unit doesn't detect any light.     How can the solar panel be positioned remotely from the executioner? I want to place the device in a dark area where the mosquitoes congregate and place the solar panel several metres away where it can get good exposure to the sun Bryce asked on 31 October 2024

    Hey Bryce,
    You can detach the solar panel from the Executioner Solar Bug Zapper, however, the cable is not that long, depending on how far away you need to position the panel, it might not have the reach.

    The unit comes with a charging cable, which can be plugged into a compatible wall adapter (5V1A or 5V2A). Disconnect the solar cable before connecting the unit to the charging cable. The unit will not charge and operate at the same time.

      It does the job. It’s in full sunlight but still runs out of battery by about 2-3am. Definitely the best solar mosquito zapper we’ve tried.

      First night in use at the camp compound in Lae, Papua New Guinea with 5 of 7 assembled and installed and in action and already a real “buzz” around camp, it’s like western magic to the local residents here and now the camp manager is already wanting more for bottom camp 5/5.

      The sound of them being zapped is great as confirms yes this is a Defense system just like our compounds 10000V electric fence to keep us safe.

      We will be buying plenty more of the Executioners not just for camp but the mine sites we operate in across PNG & the Solomon Islands.

      Good job Pestrol team you have the support of HBS Machinery in PNG.

      I’ll add another review in 3 weeks to touch base on the results of these traps.

      We live on acreage with a skeptic tank that is a breeding ground for mozzies. These had taken over our patio and prevented us from enjoying it.
      Within days of installing this unit, the patio was cleared! We are now enjoying outdoor dining again.
