    Hi Henryk, as the roof area is more of an open area you maybe better to use a combination of units, such as the Pestrol 360 Rodent Repeller: https://www.pestrol.com.au/buy-online/pestrol-360-rodent-repeller/ The Pestrol Rodent Free Max will also greatly assist, however, if there is many beams and locations without electrical wiring, you may need the extra strength of the product mentioned above.

    Why can I hear sound coming out of the unit when: I first turn it on (activating the blue button, not just switching on the power point it’s plugged into) I turn it OFF pet mode Intermittently during operation.     Can I use it without putting on the pet friendly mode when I have birds in the house? Do they hear it? I would prefer not to put it on pet friendly mode as I worry it's effectiveness may decrease. Samar asked on 24 April 2025

    Hey Samar,
    The ultrasonic frequency used on the Pestrol Rodent Free Max is designed so only Rodents can hear it, however, there are some animals that can hear the noise as well to a lesser degree. When using anything ultrasonic in nature, it's always best to monitor your pets behaviour once you've plugged in the device to see if their behaviour changes at all.

    Switching the unit to Pet Friendly Mode will only disable the ultrasonic, it will reduce the repelling effect on the internals of the house, but the Rodent Free Max's powerful electromagnetic will still reach into the wall cavities, where rodents typically hide away in.

      Had one of the older style Rodent thingies that lasted me over 10 years, they have the new model so thought it was a good time to upgrade, a lot slimmer, looks better and they say it is stronger, so all good on the rodent front for now.

      I live in the country. Had a problem with mice in the walls of my house. In the first few days after plugging in the device, the problem seemed worse. But a few days later, not a sound or sign of the mice. Most impressed.
