Our fox deterrent uses lights for repelling foxes and other meat-eating predators that lurk around your property. The Fox Lights are used to scare and repel foxes humanely and quickly.
How to get rid of foxes is a question many people have been asking: Well the Foxlights are the most advanced non-lethal method of controlling and repelling night predators. Proudly Australian designed for Australia conditions, this fox repeller has been proven for many years and has recently been updated with our solar version.
Proudly Australian designed.
How the Fox Repeller works:
The fox thinks the flashing lights are humans. They are used to hunters shining lights at them and pick this up as danger. The lights flash at random intervals to ensure the fox doesn’t get use to the light pattern.
Also works on wild cats / wild dogs.
Great for protecting livestock.
Customers use the fox repeller around:
lambs
poultry
goat kids
ducks
geese
piglets
pet protection.
Battery operated. Powered by a rectangular six-volt battery. (not supplied) – lasting about up to 12 months.
There are 9 long-life LED lights on the Fox Lights unit that flash and move all different directions and with different colours.
No on/off switch. A light sensor allows the unit to only work at night time.
Waterproof O-ring seals to protect the internals from all weather conditions.
12-month warranty
30-day money-back guarantee.
Best placed up off the ground to ensure the unit can easily be seen by all predators.
A night sensor automatically turns the unit on at dusk and off at dawn

What about the foxes getting used to it. I would think after time they would work out that nobody is there. I’m lambing in august and have houses on one side a few hundred meters away and a scrubby hill on the other side with creeks so it’s a good area for foxes
Cheers AndyAndy asked on 17 May 2025
Hey Andy,
Foxes generally do not get used to Foxlights. The key reason is that Foxlights use a computerized flashing light system with nine LED bulbs that flash in three different colors (blue, white, and red) in random sequences. This variability in the flashing pattern prevents predators, including foxes, from becoming accustomed to the light, maintaining their natural fear of human presence that the lights simulate.
Foxlights are designed to mimic a person walking with a flashlight, creating the illusion of human presence, which foxes and other nocturnal predators tend to avoid. The random and multi-colored flashing pattern is crucial because a standard or predictable flashing light would be less effective as predators could learn to ignore it. The random nature of the flashing is specifically highlighted as a feature that makes it unlikely for foxes to habituate to the deterrent.
If you are concerned about the safety of your lambs, consider using additional control methods alongside the Foxlight.

Will this device harm domestic animals such as dogs and cats. Using in city environmentDiane clements asked on 12 February 2025
Hey Diane,
Likely not, Foxlights Fox Deterrent are designed to deter predators like foxes and wild dogs by mimicking the presence of humans through flashing lights. While they are intended to be non-lethal and humane, their impact on domestic animals such as dogs and cats is generally minimal. The lights are not harmful to these animals but might cause some disturbance due to their brightness and flashing patterns. However, they are not designed to repel domestic pets, and their primary function is to deter wild predators.
Foxlights can be effective in a city environment if used appropriately. They are designed to be versatile and can be set up in various locations, including suburban areas. However, their effectiveness might be influenced by several factors:
1. Visibility: The lights need to be visible to predators from a distance. In densely populated urban areas, visibility might be reduced due to obstacles like buildings or trees
2. Disturbance to Neighbors: The lights could potentially disturb neighbors, especially if they are visible across a wide area like a lake.
3. Predator Types: While Foxlights are primarily designed for foxes and wild dogs, they might not be as effective against other urban predators like stray cats or raccoons, depending on the specific context.
In summary, Foxlights are unlikely to harm domestic animals but might cause some disturbance. Their effectiveness in a city environment depends on visibility and the type of predators present.

I am a retiree hobby farmer. I have chickens and sheep. Many of my neighbours have had they flocks attacked or decimated by predators in recent times. I have 2 of these units as part of a layered defence approach to security and have had NO signs that anything has made any significant impact towards my little feathered and fluffy friends.
