Activated charcoal is highly porous, with an immense internal surface area ranging from 300 to 2,000 square meters per gram. This structure allows it to trap a large number of odour molecules and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) within its microscopic pores. Odours are volatile chemical compounds that interact with the activated charcoal's surface. Van der Waals forces bind these molecules to the pores, effectively capturing and retaining them without chemically altering or neutralizing them. Unlike synthetic fragrances that mask odours, activated charcoal eliminates them by physically trapping the molecules. You can reactivate the Bamboo Charcoal Odour Remover Bags by placing them out in the sun to let the UV Rays refresh the bag and remove most of the pollutants inside. You would want to do this roughly once a month. These bags have an approximate life span of 2 years.

I purchased the charcoal bags to rid an antique desk of the smell of pipe and cigarette smoke. The charcoal bags are helping rather well.
These charcoal bags really work.
These arrived on Friday and already I’m extremely impressed with them. I put one in my toilet where my cat litter is and after 24 hours I could not detect that there was litter in that room. Very happy and very impressed.
