FAQ

How should Surefire Preserve 120SC be applied?

It can be applied as a water-based spray using ground rigs, aircraft, or knapsacks. The product should be thoroughly mixed with water and sprayed for full coverage. Avoid spraying if rain is expected before the spray dries, as it is rainfast only after drying.

What are the storage and disposal recommendations for this product?

Store the product in its original, closed container in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Containers should be triple rinsed before disposal, and empty containers should be crushed or punctured and disposed of at an approved waste facility or buried 500 mm underground in a designated pit away from waterways and vegetation.

Is Surefire Preserve 120SC safe for beneficial insects and the environment?

It has low toxicity to mammals, birds, fish, and many beneficial insects, making it suitable for integrated pest management (IPM). However, it is toxic to bees and aquatic invertebrates, so avoid direct application or drift onto beehives and water bodies. Some species of beneficial insects (including wasps , ants and some beetles) are sensitive to the product and may see temporary reductions in population when using the product below the highest rate (80mL/100L).

Is the concentration 120 or 500g/litre? Both are in the listing. Also, what's the solution rate for spraying? Alban asked on 16 February 2025

Hey Alban,
Surefire Preserve 120SC Insecticide is a concentrate of 120g/L Spinosad. The mixing rate for a solution will vary depending on the plant and application type, but most mixtures are between 40-80mL per 100L with broader commercial applications being between 400-800mL per Hectare.

Always refer to the product brochure for further details on mixing rates and application types.
