Placement: Install the trap at least 12 inches (30 cm) above ground level. This height is typically out of reach for blue tongue lizards and less accessible to possums.
Bait selection: Use baits that are specifically attractive to rats and mice but less appealing to lizards and possums. The trap comes with long-life lure, which is formulated to attract rodents.
Protective housing: Consider building a protective housing around the trap that allows rats and mice to enter but excludes larger animals.
