    I live in Mackay North Queensland and have a bad midge problem in my farm paddocks. Can GP MozX be applied to the paddocks for management of midges? Natasha Joynson asked on 4 March 2025

    Hi Natasha, GP MozX Granular Bti is specifically designed to control mosquito larvae, particularly salt marsh mosquito species (Aedes vigilax) and dengue vectors (Aedes aegypti), using the active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti). Bti works by targeting the gut of mosquito larvae, effectively killing them within 24 hours of ingestion. However, it is important to note that Bti is not effective against adult mosquitoes or biting midges (Ceratopogonidae), as its action is limited to larvae of specific insect species. For biting midge control, alternative methods such as habitat modification i would recommend Biting Midge & Mosquito Barrier.

    Hi there I live at Northam in Western Australia and we are having bad mosquito problems. We think it is due to our leach drains being somewhat stagnant as there is not enough fall/slope. Thinking that flushing some of these granules into the leach drain could be a solution? Do you think it would be suitable for West Australian mosquito species? thanks.
